Academy of Health Professions provides students with project and problem-based learning, clinical and internship experiences, and classroom and lab instruction related to the field of healthcare. Students are introduced to healthcare knowledge and skills through two foundation courses: Foundations of Medicine and Health Science and Structure and Functions of the Human Body. Students may then choose from several course combinations to complete the four-course sequence. Within the Academy of Health Professions there are opportunities for students to apply what they are learning to real-life healthcare situations in a medical specialty course, such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Biomedical Technology (Randallstown only) and Pharmacy Technician. Students may also participate in a supervised clinical experience course, have the opportunity to design and participate in an internship, and/or enroll in a prerequisite course at the local community college.
