Everyone’s ecstatic about showing their school spirit by participating in
our homecoming activities.
"We are very excited about planning, changing and creating a whole new
look for homecoming this year; I can’t wait to see how everything is going
to turn out," said Miss Decker, SGA advisor.
Everyone thinks that it is vital to make some changes to our old
favorites, like the dance.
Tierra Smith, the SGA president says, "The theme [for the dance is]
Randallstown’s black affair; we [will be] very strict about the dress code
this year. So, please do not come to the door with a ticket thinking you are
going to get in with athletic wear or inappropriate clothing."
Students will not be admitted to the dance (even with a ticket) if they
are wearing any of the following: jeans, tennis shoes, t-shirts, short
shorts, or mini skirts. Consider this event to be business
casual/semi-formal.
There will be a number of faculty members and administrators chaperoning
the dance, and SGA members are also recruiting parents to help make sure the
homecoming dance runs smoothly, "no less than 15 chaperones," will be in
attendance says Miss Decker.
"We want the students at the dance to represent the school with dignity
and self respect," said Miss Decker. Another important change is that the
dance will take place in the cafeteria this year.
In an attempt to increase student involvement, expect some creative
themes for spirit week.
"We are also looking to increase community/family support and attendance,
particularly at the parade, game, and as chaperones at the dance. We want
the student body to feel proud that they attend Randallstown High School,"
Ms. Decker explained.
Homecoming tickets will be on sale during all lunch shifts during spirit
week. The cost for each ticket is $5. When students purchase a ticket to the
dance and/or football game, they will also get a ticket to Fridays’ pep
rally. Only one pep rally ticket per student.
