Are you ready to show your school
spirit and represent your class? The Student Government
Association,
SGA has finalized the themes for RHS’s spirit week which
will begin on Mon. Oct. 22.
“I
have to participate in spirit week to get in the spirit for
school,” says Lecia Smith, senior.
The
spirit week themes are as follows: Monday is school colors
day. Tuesday is nerd day. Come to school in your best Steve
Urkel outfit. Wednesday is wacky tacky day; Thursday is rock
star day, and on Friday students are encouraged to wear
their class colors.
Many
students are ready to support their class at the pep rally
which will take place on Friday, Oct. 26th. Only students
with tickets will be allowed to attend the event.
“Yes,
I am going to pep rally. I have to represent ‘08. I am
looking forward to seeing the dancers and the steppers,”
says Smith.
The
homecoming dance will take place on Sat., Oct. 27th in the
cafeteria. The dance will run from 7-11, and the theme is a
Black Affair. Everyone attending the dance is encouraged to
wear all black.
“I
am definitely coming to homecoming because [it’s] always
fun, and the themes are good too,” says Ariel Talley,
junior.
“I
can’t wait till homecoming; I am [going to] participate in
everything for homecoming. I hope homecoming, in general,
will be the best because it’s my last year. I hope ’08
wins everything this year; never mind, we will win
everything this year,” says Pauline Redmond, senior.
“I
will be attending the dance and my attire will be dressy
causal. My expectation overall is for the music to be
great,” says Crystal Williams, sophomore.
Even
teachers and staff members are excited about homecoming.
“I
will be taking my kids to the homecoming game,” says Mr.
Logan, technology.
“I
will be attending the pep rally and the game, [but] …
I’m not sure if I am attending the dance,” says Mr.
Hill, school custodian.
