Being on time to school should be your top priority

I believe that you should always try to be on time for school. When you are late, you miss out on a lot of new and interesting things that you could be learning, if you were in class.

You may not want to admit it, but some of the things you learn in school and in different subjects can be fascinating and surprisingly helpful in everyday life.  Your grade can be sitting at a ‘B’ but because of a number of latenesses, it can turn into a D or even a F.  Learning to be on time can prepare you for the workplace. If you’re not on time for work, you lose your job. If you are not on time for a doctor's or dentist's appointment, then you miss your appointment, and you may have to pay a fee for not cancelling your visit. RHS students know we need to be on time. I guess what we need is a little bit of motivation to get us moving in the mornings.

Students know it’s good to be on time for school. Ashley Ball, junior, said, “I like being on time for school because I know I won’t miss any important instruction….”

Cristina Jordan, senior, says “I don’t want to have to make up any work or fail.” Sherron Huey, senior, says “Who wants to be late for school and have to miss class.”

Here are some tips to help you get to school on time.

1. Go to bed at a reasonable time
    2. Set your alarm clock
    3. Plan what you will wear to school the night before
    4. Eat a health breakfast
    5. Allot enough time to get to school
    6. When you arrive at school, immediately go to your locker; do not loiter in the halls
    7. After you have gathered your books, report directly to your first period class.

Latenesses add up and can affect your
