I double dare you

Ever played the exciting game of truth and dare? If you answered no and you’re a teenager with a license, your own car and own a cell phone with the text message feature enabled, you are so lying!

You’re a regular dare devil!

Many teenagers consider themselves very talented, if they can drive and text at the same time. I consider this a very dangerous act; don’t get me wrong though, I am a text message junkie, but nothing in the world is more important than my life; therefore, why risk it by trying to boo love while driving!

It’s so not worth it! The excuse, "I was text messaging my mother," is not acceptable. She can call you and leave a message; you have voicemail, use it people!

Many teenagers don’t think about the consequences involved if they choose to text while driving. I had a close friend die in a car accident due to cell phone use. Her death

affected me personally and has made me change my outlook on the issue of driving while using a cell phone. It’s time for us to become a lot more serious about the issue of using a cell phone while operating a vehicle; no one should have to suffer because of another driver’s carelessness.

How would you feel if you were the person who was responsible for the death of a 17 year-old with a very promising future? Would you be able to even live with yourself?

I’m quite sure that you would not want to experience the death of a close friend or family member because of such a silly thing such as a cell phone or a text message. It only takes two seconds to look at a text message, but it also only takes two seconds to end up in the rear end of another car or in a hospital bed or worse.

The amount of grief caused by fatal car accidents is not worth that one text message from your boyfriend or girlfriend. Think the next time before you choose the option of dare.
