In accordance with the Baltimore
County Public School system that is committed to
the development of lifelong learners who can realize
the full extent of their growth potential in society
marked by a rapid social, technological, scientific,
and economic growth. The Randallstown high School
guidance Department’s mission is to promote
academic achievement, personal growth, and lifelong
learning for all students. We hope to assist in
the development of students who become citizens
who value multicultural diversity and commitment
to service in an increasingly interdependent world.
We will prepare students for the changing world
of technology and for the realities of post-secondary
education and the work place of the 21st century.
Our goal is to become is to a model high school
in the global community.
The Randallstown High School Department
of Guidance and Counseling will:
- Nurture social-emotional- academic
growth
- Assist with the transition
to each grade by providing grade-level guidance
and counseling
- Guide students through career
and post-secondary planning
- Collaborate with student, parent,
and faculty to facilitate academic achievement
- Assist students with developing
positive peer relations
- Assisting students to understand
diversity and cultural sensitivity in global society
- Foster student self-esteem
and the notion that every student has inherent
worth
- Collaborate with administration
and faculty to provide a safe and nurturing school
environment.
The Randallstown High School department
of Guidance and Counseling will refer to the Board
of Education of Baltimore county essential Guidance
program model for development of a comprehensive
guidance program.
The Randallstown High School Department
of Guidance and Counseling will utilize individual
and group counseling to deliver Guidance services
that will include, but not limited to:
- Crisis Intervention
- Classroom Guidance and Activities
- Educational Planning
- College and Career Planning
- Support Groups
- Conflict Resolution/Peer Mediation
Assistance
- Evening Outreach Programs
- Technology and Computer Resources
The Randallstown High School Department
of Guidance and Counseling will measure the quality
of its services through student, parent, and administration
feedback. We will conduct and end-of-year survey
to assess our performance.
