Biomedical Technology Magnet

Advances in biosciences and biomedical technology continue to drive new innovations in patient care and require stronger relations between industries in developing, testing and implementing new products and services. The Biosciences Technology Magnet Program, part of the Human Services Academy at Randallstown High School will provide students a strong foundation for the challenges of advanced studies and careers in these fields. Students with a strong interest in math and science are introduced to the concepts, techniques and teamwork utilized in biotechnology and research investigation. Students will also have the opportunity to apply both the interpersonal and technical skills developed in high school while participating in a senior internship.

Criteria for Lottery Eligibility

  • Academic performance in 7th and 8th grades:
    • "C" or better in English/Language Arts
    • "C" or better in Social Studies
    • "B" or better in Mathematics
    • "B" or better in Science
  • Enrollment in Algebra I or Algebra II
  • Writing Sample
  • Interview
